I would definitely go to this hotel again!
Best Features: A 5-8 min. walk from Dhoby Ghaut Metro (interchange) and Orchard Road (brilliant shopping/eating etc.) Very nice clean hotel. Helpful staff. Good choice at breakfast. A good "guest laundry room" with iron available. As this hotel actively participates in YWCA activities, there are lots facilities also available to hotel guests ie. full size swimming swimmimg pool, climbing wall.
Needs Improvement: 1.On first entering the hotel, the reception area certainly did NOT have "the wow" factor - but don't be put off by this! 2. The swimming pool is not open air which didn't worry me but might be a problem for some travellers
Hotel tip If you are new to Singapore, or this area, get clear instructions of how to get from the hotel to Orchard Road from reception. It's not far but you need to know which direction to go! You can either go thru the shopping mall just behind the hotel, or walk round the outside and go down a few steps past a little garden and fountain. (Come out of the hotel entrance onto the pavement of the main road, turn left and walk a short distance. Look for the steps down. At the bottom of the steps, turn left and walk along the front of the mall). Whichever way you go, you must now find the zebra crossing to take you across the road. Keep walking in that direction ie. your back to the shopping mall, until you reach the metro (and Orchard Road).
In Orchard Road, Try the fried sweet potato (and other snacks) on wooden skewers from the kiosks on the pavement. Delicious.
